June is Pride Month, and while Pride celebrations may look a little different for some this year, the message remains the same. The reason we celebrate Pride is to demonstrate understanding, encourage acceptance and show support of the LGBTQ+ community.
While issues of inclusion and oppression for the LGBTQ+ community are at the forefront during Pride Month, we at CO-OP want to help make the pursuit of equity and equality top of mind 365 days out of the year. Many of us already do – so we encourage celebrating Pride by acknowledging those champions who lead with inclusivity in everything they do.
Internally, we are inviting our employees to send a CO-OP recognition to colleagues using a Be Inclusive recognition type. We want to recognize individuals for being allies to the LGBTQ+ community, and also for advocating for what’s right every day.
Deepening your knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community is a great way to celebrate Pride. Here are some great resources to start with:

- Talking About Pronouns in the Workplace
- LGBTQ Rights Milestones Fast Facts
- Library of Congress: LGBTQ Pride Month Collection
Let’s come together to make Pride Month the catalyst for change and reinforce being inclusive to better ourselves and others at CO-OP!
